During the last several days as schools and restaurants were closed across the United States in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, countless jewelry designers switched gears to help charitable causes. Scores of designers and a few independent jewelry boutiques mobilized behind the No Kid Hungry charity.
Those involved in the effort are donating anywhere from 20% to 50% of the proceeds from online sales to the national organization that has plans to help feed millions of children losing the healthy meals they depend on at school. No Kid Hungry will be providing emergency grants to food banks and local community groups and diverting resources to feed kids in the hardest-hit communities.
If you are in the jewelry business and interested in joining the effort one easy way to do so is to contact Jen Lowitz of IHPR or Danielle Greenblatt of Danielle Gadi PR via Instagram DM. These two powerhouses helped galvanize the jewelry community and can provide graphics for social media posts and details on the charity. Danielle said they were both inspired to reach out because “We wanted to get as much visibility for No Kid Hungry to not just raise money, but also make the most of each brand’s social reach to support the organization’s efforts.”
Editor’s note: Following is only a partial list of designers participating in the cause. Some have listed on their websites notes about their donations to No Kid Hungry. Others have made the announcement via an Instagram post. Get specifics from the designer where you choose to shop.
