In a Hollywood kind of way
February 18, 2024—The BAFTAs, otherwise known as the British Academy of Television and Arts awards, held in London tonight always feel like the glamorous European vacation segment of the long Awards Season itinerary.
Generally, all the stars on the red carpet are outshone by the appearance of Catherine, Princess of Wales, who is still commonly known in America as Kate Middleton. But the princess did not attend because she is still convalescing from the abdominal surgery she had last month. Prince William went solo and was kept company during the ceremony by Cate Blanchett.
In the absence of the princess, lots of movie stars kept up royal appearances wearing jewels like necklaces and statement earrings that felt regal in a Hollywood kind of way.

Margot Robbie continued her long streak of dressing in Barbie mode at the BAFTAs and pairing the looks with Lorraine Schwartz oversized diamond jewelry.
The earrings she wore with the black and pink Armani Privé gown are diamond and black jade.
According to Cate Blanchett’s stylist Elizabeth Stewart, “The unique, repurposed Louis Vuitton High Jewelry necklace is born from the collaboration between Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Watches and Jewelry, Francesca Amfitheatrof and Cate, the creation gives a second life to the pearls from Cate’s 2023 BAFTA High Jewelry design, while the stones and materials have been sourced from five archival High Jewelry creations.”

Emma Stone paired Louis Vuitton jewelry with her peach custom Louis Vuitton gown with a giant puff sleeve, that paid tribute to all the puff sleeves in her movie Poor Things.
Her jewels included a yellow gold, platinum and diamond necklace and earrings. She also had on a ring and a yellow gold, platinum, garnet and diamond ring from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry.
Emily Blunt wore a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Fleaurage necklace composed of yellow gold and platinum, diamonds and over 37 carats multicolor gems.
The Oppenheimer star also sported diamond earrings and two diamond rings from Tiffany.
Taylor Russell wore two diamond and platinum jewels from The Tiffany Archives. Her pendant earrings were made at some point between 1950 and 1960. And the bracelet is from the Art Deco era.
The actress paired the pieces with a contemporary rendition of a diamond and platinum Jean Schlumberger ring by Tiffany.
After diving into the series about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, The New Look, on Apple TV last night, it was fun to see Carey Mulligan on the red carpet in the vintage Dior gown made in 1951.
She paired the piece with a choker from Bulgari.
Florence Pugh wore a dramatic diamond Boucheron necklace.
Ayo Edebiri wore Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Hedges and Rows ear clips composed of diamonds, platinum and gold with turquoise centers.
She also had a Tiffany Setting in diamond and platinum over her long gloves. This is not the first time a celebrity has worn a Tiffany Setting, which is an engagement ring, as a style statement. Kaia Gerber sported one on her pinkie at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala.
