Back in the spring, Chanel launched its first fine jewelry boutique within a department store. The gorgeous petite space on the main floor at Bergdorf Goodman was meticulously designed by Peter Marino as a special setting for luxurious pieces like the designs seen in the jewelry blockbuster hit of the summer Café Society and cool creations including a diamond ear cuff named Comete Spirale.
Now Chanel Fine Jewelry has considerably increased its foot print within the luxury mecca. The pop up shop, or in the lovely lingo of Chanel “ephemeral space,” on the seventh floor feels like the dream New York apartment of a French girl. No check that, it’s the dream New York apartment of any girl. The décor has a modern mix of vintage and contemporary elements. Of course, the colors are signature Chanel: white, black and gold.
The best part is the place is filled with Chanel fine jewelry. Designs with the house’s icons—comets, feathers, camellias and lions—are all over the bookshelves, dining table and dressing area. Mingled among the well-known creations is Chanel’s new gold and diamond collection Coco Crush covered with a metelassé pattern that echoes the quilting on the house’s iconic bags.
Take a spin around Chanel’s Jewel Box in the slide show above. See the spirit of the collections captured in the charming Chanel video (below) directed by Charlotte Wales and starring actress Ellie Bamber, performer Kilo Kish, ABT dancer Courtney Lavine, Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and florist Taylor Patterson. Then, if you are in New York City, get to Bergdorf’s fast to see the space and jewels in person. It is only open until September 11, 2016.
