I realize the 2017 Oscars were a little over three weeks ago, but some jewels, well, they stay in my head forever. Jessica Biel’s Tiffany necklace is just such a jewel. I begged, pleaded and cajoled my friends at the great American jeweler for every last detail on the design. Actually, I am exaggerating, I politely asked some questions that were nagging me and they generously shared all the amazing details.
These are the facts…
*All the gold, diamonds and platinum in the jewel add up and put the necklace in the super statement heavy weight category. It is 803 grams or approximately 1.75 pounds.
*The necklace is a Blue Book piece. That’s Tiffany terminology for the best and the brightest, usually one-of-a kind jewels, presented to elite press and clients. In the last couple of year’s, the Blue Book has had an overarching theme. There was The Art of the Sea in 2015 and The Art of Transformation in 2016. The Oscar necklace is from the recently debuted 2017 Art of the Wild collection inspired by the rain forest.
*The necklace took approximately one year to make. It features 350 uniquely shaped 18K yellow gold fronds that all move independently. Diamond-set fronds are interspersed among the gold pieces. A collar featuring four rows set with more than 200-baguette-cut diamonds weighing around 60-carats light up the jewel.
*The price has been reported to be $2-million. To be exact, it is actually, $1,850,000.
