Scarlett Johansson’s Oscar Earrings
The $2-million jewels were part of a collab between Anita Ko and Forevermark
Scarlett Johansson was named The Adventurine’s jewelry star of 2019. We loved the way she wore imaginative creations and were thrilled to see her make such an original choice for the 2020 Oscars.
The star who was nominated in the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for her roles in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit lit up her champagne Oscar de la Renta gown with a front to back dangling pair of earrings conceived by the beloved Los Angeles based designer, Anita Ko, for Forevermark.

If you are not familiar with Forevermark, they are an exclusive division of DeBeers that has been guaranteeing responsibly sourced from mine to market gems long before the issues were so fully examined on the red carpet. The company was established in 2008. Each Forevermark diamond is given a special mark (thus the name of the company) so it can be traced.
Anita has been around just a couple of years longer than Forevermark. She began making her diamond classics with a twist in Los Angeles in 2006 and is famous for being one of the big pioneers in the multiple piercing and ear cuff movement. Every A-lister in Hollywood has worn the jewels.

The collaborators road to the 2020 Oscars began when Anita was approached by Forevermark and given the opportunity to work with some of the diamonds in the firm’s Exceptional collection of gems that are rare and over 3-carats. “I’m always initially inspired by the raw materials and how I can bring movement and light to the piece I am designing,” Anita explained. “As soon as I laid eyes on the two pear-shaped Forevermark Exceptional Diamonds, I knew the silhouette of my Olivia earrings was the perfect design to highlight the beauty of these one-of-a-kind stones.” The completed Forevermark x Anita Ko earrings were set with round and one pear-shape diamond. There was a cool asymmetry to the jewels.
For the Oscars, Scarlett’s stylist, Molly Dickson, asked Anita Ko and Forevermark to add a bit more Oscar glam to the design with a second pear-shape diamond. They were happy to make the adjustment. The excellence of the 27-carats of diamonds, the imaginative design and manufacturing, give the earrings an Oscar jewelry sized price tag. They cost a cool $2.1-million.
