The Best Statement Necklaces at the SAG Awards

There were chokers, bibs and bold Y styles

February 25, 2024—The SAG Awards always take place on a Saturday night as opposed to Sunday like most awards shows. And they are very deep into the long Awards Season. So, you never really know what you are going to get in terms of the jewelry. You could be looking at jewels people haven’t had a chance to wear over the course of the Season. Sometimes people are experimental in their jewelry choices.

Much to my surprise this year, there was an array of statement necklaces. I say to “my surprise” because there have been a few award shows this season where necklaces were scarce. Designer Lauren Harwell Godfrey pointed out how the outfits at the Emmys would have looked better with necklaces by Photoshopping them on a number of actresses. And she had a point.

There was no need for necklace Photoshopping, however, at the SAG Awards. The silhouette trends were choker, bib and bold Y styles. Get the details on the best examples below.

Carey Mulligan sported a spectacular 1930s René Boivin gold and diamond necklace from Fred Leighton.

Ayo Edebiri continued her rising star style streak in a Tabayer Oera white gold diamond choker and ring.

America Ferrera wore the Metamorphosis by De Beers ‘Autumn’ over 12-carat Diamond Necklace.

Jessica Chastain wore a De Beers Drops of Light Diamond Necklace set with 20.97 carats of diamond in platinum.

Bel Powley coordinated her Chanel black and white dress with her Chanel diamond necklace.

Emily Blunt wore a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Petal Fringe necklace in platinum and gold with 152 round brilliant diamonds weighing over 6 carats. She also had on a pair of Tiffany High Jewelry earrings with 14 pear-shaped diamonds, 2 oval diamonds and 4 marquise diamonds, totaling over 9 carats.

Halle Bailey wears Joseph Saidian and Sons vintage diamond necklace and Le Vian diamond earrings.

Quinta Brunson wore a statement diamond and emerald necklace and earrings from Yvan Tufenkjian.

Taraji P. Henson glowed in a Bulgari High Jewelry Serpenti necklace set with morganites, amethysts and diamonds among other jewels.

Anne Hathaway paired a cerulean blue Versace gown with a Bulgari High Jewelry Serpenti diamond necklace to reunite with her Devil Wears Prada cast mates Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.
