The Chicest Way to Carry Crystals

Jacquie Aiche and Grace Raymond have made a luxurious jewel for your gems

by Marion Fasel

While the belief in the power of crystals can be traced back thousands of years, there has rarely been a period in modern times when they have been as popular as they are today. The interest has gone beyond just a New Age niche fascination with the stones. Any number of celebrities have professed their interest in crystals. Miranda Kerr meditates with them. Gwyneth Paltrow’s website Goop made headline news when it published an interview with Shiva Rose covering the power of jade eggs for your yoni. Kim Kardashian has become so passionate about healing crystals, they inspired the design of the bottles for her fragrance collection.

The list of high profile crystal fans is endless. In the world’s turbulent state, it’s easy to understand the passion for rocks that are supposed to enhance your emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. What I have seen little of in the steady stream of coverage on crystals are chic ways to wear them. A story on Vogue.com covered a new bra with a built-in strap for a crystal, but that’s not what I am talking about.

Jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche and her friend Grace Raymond have beautifully resolved the issue with their Voler mesh necklaces that feature a pouch to carry a crystal. Each one is made by a team of 10 artisans in Jaipur, India who, over the course of 15 days, form each link of every jewel by hand and then laser solder them together. The unisex design comes in 14K gold, silver and black rhodium plated silver. On the special website created for the jewels, there are also 10 different fine crystals available to put in the pouch with a description on the powers attributed to each one.

Crystals have long been a part of Jacquie Aiche’s jewelry collection. She has been interested in power of them from a very young age when she learned about crystals from jewelry designer Tina Chow who not only set humongous crystals in her jewels she also bathed in them to energizer herself. “Growing up, Tina’s daughter, China, was one of my best friends,” explains Jacquie. “Learning about crystals from Tina’s passion for them was a gift of inspiration.”

With the Voler Love collection, Jacquie and Grace have included a way to extend the good vibrations beyond bringing a crystal’s power closer to your body. When you purchase a Voler pouch from volerlove.com, 30% of the proceeds will go to Donors Choose. Within 48 hours of your purchase you will receive an email with your Donors Choose gift code to support public school classrooms. You will have the opportunity to go to donorschoose.org to find the classroom projects that inspire you and allocate as much as you want to each. The charitable component is like a a guarantee that these crystal accessories will be healing.
